Grey and petrol blue

Gosh, where did the summer go? It's been a long time since I wrote a post... but everything is just that little bit busier! This is something I made a wee while ago. Sort of a random collection of whatever I fancied linked together by grey and petrol blue beads.
Grey, white and petrol blue colored seed beads with a mix from JBS beads thrown in!

I've also gone into the card making business ;) Made all the invites for my wedding in October, but not a bead in sight! It would take too long and there's a lot more to get done.
Enjoy the rest of the summer, whatever's left of it!

Summer green

With some foil lined glass beads, pearl discs and a heart clasp you'll go far in the summer :)
Reminds me of grass and leaves and all things green.
It's just strung onto fishing line cause I still can't master the art of wire and crimps... they always break!

Dark purple sparkles

If there's such a thing as totally and utterly busy that's been me lately... and it's not looking to improve any time soon. Well, at least the weather is nice outside my window and I can eat as many strawberries as I want!
I actually don't know what the stones in this necklace is called, but they're cool and sparkly :)
with some black seed beads mixed in.

Don't get burnt!

Black necklace / bracelet

Oh, don't we like a little multitasking?! :) Two strands of black seed beads joined by black onyx chips and other black accent beads. Twisted around the wrist it makes a multi strand bracelet but it would work just as well as a necklace.

Turquoise dreams

I had a mix of blue and turquoise size 8 seed beads, there was just enough for a peyote strip... with some matching glass beads stitched on top it turned out quite well. Hope this can spur on the summer a bit! A wee swim in the sea perhaps? ;)

Blue blue blue

I got these lamp work beads as a gift and wasn't sure what to do with them but then I found the blue glass beads and some turquoise crystal quartz and a bracelet was born. :)

Monochrome simple bracelet

Pick up a few beads, string them onto some fishing line and one two three you've got a new bracelet / necklace. Quite good for spare and left-over beads. I made this ages ago, I'm currently more into pearls and pearl knotting, posts to follow...
Enjoy the weekend!

Stars

After my wavy ropes I had this idea that you can connect a few wavy ropes into one bracelet. This has rose quartz stars and black seed beads. The clasp is two stars which isn't the best and it took me ages to get the loop size right!
But you never know these things until you try... ;)

Crystal Cube bracelet

Still at work in the lovely weather... :) I do like the sun.
Crystal quartz can be used for a lot of things, these are stitched on a base of square stitched silver lined cubes. It catches the light nicely when the sun comes out
I've got so many ideas but so little time and actually not much space left for bracelets... might need a new chest of drawers ;)

Enjoy the sun

Wibble wobble

This is actually one of the first bracelets I ever made! It's a square stitched frame which is held together with wiggly bits in the middle. Again with black and grey... what else?! :) The fastening is a homemade version of a button... I really need to rethink that. It works but it is a bit fiddly.

Almost lunch time!!

Monochrome bracelet

I find brick stitch a bit fiddly... but the final result turned out quite well. :)
Just simple white and black seed beads.
Now Lemsip to cure my cold. Happy bank holiday tomorrow!

In the rope

Black Millifiori beads, black onyx nuggets and some seed beads make this little bracelet.
I've got hundreds of new ideas but not the time to do them all... maybe I should just quit my job ;) not been enjoying it much lately but hoping the weekend will make it better.
Have a great weekend! I'm thinking Star Trek at the IMAX...

Berry grey memory wire

When you get bead mixes from JBS beads there's enough for a few bracelets. This is the berry grey mix with a few pearly glass beads mixed in on memory wire.
My work week has been horrendous but at the weekend I was quite productive. Pictures will come...

Crazy pink

There's nothing really that says the whole bracelet has to have the same design all over... this is a mix of peyote stitched bits and strung beads. Endless opportunities :)
The beads are seed beads and pink rings from the bead company in Glasgow and all the focal beads are from a mix bought from JBS beads. The clasp is a slide clasp.
I quite fancy making something similar but with more variation and not just peyote (although it's the easiest stitch...). Maybe that'll make it too crazy!?
Happy Sunday!

Wavy ropes

Swarovski crystals are amongst the most sparkly beads around. These are mixed with matte black seed beads in a wavy rope design. I wear them separate or mixed together. Although I need to watch out for the X-mas theme with the red and green together... :)
The clasp on the yellow bracelet is a little bird I got as a birthday gift from Ash. Love it!
Wavy ropes are dead easy and any colors of beads can be used! Try one... ;)

Simple peyote bracelet

This is a simple peyote strip with beads from John Lewis haberdashery shop (lovely word that haberdashery...). I think if I remember correctly that the beads are Gütermanns satin seed beads in size 9/0. They're not the best quality beads but they've got a lovely shine to them!
Better get to work... have a great day!

String strung bracelet

I got the focal bead as a Christmas pressie last year. The other beads are from Bead Chic in Glasgow. They're only strung onto fishing line, I wish I could do wire and crimp beads but they're not agreeing with me... Maybe if I get myself a proper crimp tool.

Left-over beads

So after making the grey and black bracelet I had some left-overs... as you always do! (Except when you run out and can't get the beads again... :( )
Anyhow, with the fire polished crystal I just made a little necklace (first one on the blog!) and with the other beads I made another peyote strip. It was meant to go on the bracelet but I felt it made it too wide. It's meant to be a cuff not a full sleeve!

Grey and black

Just because I said I'm a fan of grey and black I thought I'd put this bracelet up.
It's peyote stitch with some pearl discs and fire polished crystal.
I guess it could be made in any color really, it's just a matter of finding three colors that go well together. It's fastened with snap fasteners, good for sewing but also beading it seems cause the fastening is hidden and you don't have to find fancy clasps.

Square stitch in black, grey and yellow

My dear friend Ash borrows me her beading magazines. :) This is a variation of one of the patterns I found in one of them, the original design is by Jan Tilley.
It's a square stitched base with black cube beads with black seed beads, grey and yellow pearl discs and millifiori beads stitched on top. The fringing is black seed beads, grey glass chips, millifiori beads and black onyx chips.

Memory wire #3

I've gone a bit obsessed with memory wire...
I'm also a fan of all things black and grey, but I've got a feeling that might change once summer's here!

80's moment

It's a bit 80's style but it goes with everything!

Memory wire #2

One in every color?! Turquoise glass, quartz and millifiori beads.

Memory wire

I've recently discovered memory wire. It's great, like stringing but without the fuss of measuring your wrist. Great for gifts...
Here's one I made with grey, black and silver beads. Hope you still like it Sofie ;)

Crystal Quartz

We all love a bit of glitter, I think it's the magpie in all of us! :)
When I first started making bracelets it was mainly just stringing beads onto a thread but there's a lot more you can do!
This is a bracelet with peyote stitched base and then crystal quartz sewn on top.
